Ministries within the parish include
Adult Education: Provided periodically at St. Joseph's and regionally through St. Bernard's Institute. All offerings are advertised in our parish bulletin.
Buildings and Grounds Committee: Members plan for and provide care for our buildings and property.
Children's Liturgy of the Word: For children grades Kindergarten through Grade 5. Led by parishioners during our 10:30am Sunday Mass.
Faith Formation of Children: Coordinated by our Director of Religious Education with a volunteer staff of teachers and aides.
Finance Committee: Oversees day to day operations and short and long term financial planning.
Liturgy Committee: Meets monthly. Plans for liturgical seasons and for special events.
Liturgical Ministries and Support Roles: Our aim is maximum involvement of parishioners of all ages in the liturgy. Roles include lectors, extra ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Eucharistic Ministers to the sick, ushers, servers, greeters, adult choir, seasonal children's choir, cantors, instrumentalists, social activities, those who arrange the sanctuary and flowers and those who care for altar linens and vestments.
Pastoral Council: Meets monthly to set goals, discuss issues, evaluate and plan for parish life.
Perpetual Adoration: Our adoration chapel is continuously available as a place of private prayer. Volunteers are present for each hour of the day and night.
PreCana Team: Members of the parish assist in the preparation of couples for the Sacrament of Matrimony.
Sacramental Preparation: Available for those of any age through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, Sacramental programs for children, Baptism preparation for parents of infants, Marriage preparation and PreCana. Parent meetings are held in preparation for all Sacraments for children.
Social Activities Committee: This committee coordinates planning for dinners, breakfasts, parties, receptions and all major social events. These often take place on a monthly basis.
Social Ministry and Outreach: Includes clothing and food collection, a Fall baby shower for the needy, the Thanksgiving Food collection for the area food cupboard, the collection of gifts and meals for the needy at Christmas, Lenten soup suppers to raise money for Operation Rice Bowl, etc.
Catholic Minstries Appeal: This committee oversees the annual Diocesan appeal conducted every Fall which supports many important ministries in our Diocese and in which St. Joseph's directly benefits from.
Youth Ministry: All teens in the parish are encouraged to participate in a variety of Youth Group events and service projects within and outside of the parish.
