Values Statement

Prayer: Each of us is called by God to be a person of prayer. As a parish, we give highest priority to our weekly gathering to celebrate the Eucharist. We are committed to the values of reverence and joy, sound preaching, excellent music and a pervasive sense of welcome and acceptance. We are grateful that so many can gather at daily Mass and in our Adoration Chapel for a time of regular prayer each week.

Hospitality: All people are welcome at St. Joseph's, regardless of race, color, creed or sexual orientation. There are no differences that set us apart; there is only the oneness we share in Christ our Lord. We value our monthly gatherings to share food and friendship as a way of welcoming newcomers, nourishing relationships and building up the community.

Generosity: We live the Gospel mandate to reach out in service, especially to the poor, the sick, the elderly and the fragile. We do this financially, in pastoral care and also in service to those in need.

Commitment to Youth: We are committed to affirming the goodness of our children and youth and to fostering their membership through active and creative participation in the liturgy, faith formation programs, sacramental preparation, involvement in social ministry, and sporting and social events.

Commitment of parishioners to community: Parishioners display cohesiveness through active participation in a variety of ministries, building on a deep sense of history and tradition.
